What is responsiveness and how is calculated?

Responsiveness is how many message you have replied to as a percentage of the total messages you have received, it is used in the fun searches and recommendations, so having a high response rating will increase the amount of messages and viewings you recieve.

It is hoped this encourages user to be more responsive typically anything over 75% is pretty good. It is however next to impossible to receive a total of 100%.

It is calculate each time you enter your messages page. If takes into account the messages currently in your inbox and the messages you had previously received.

Also if you report a message as spam our system will see this as you having replied to the message and will adjust your responsiveness rating, it is hoped this encourages users to report spam. How do I message other users?

It is most likely you will first come into contact with other members through a search, if you are logged in / registered you will be able to select the" message the user button" when you view their profile.

What is my message Allowance?

Your message allowance is the number of messages you are allowed to send. As a new member your are on 'probation' for your first 30 days and your messages are limited, you will be allowed to send an additional ten messages a day, this is, however, cumulative, that is, if you use no messages on Monday and Tuesday when you log in on Wednesday you will have an additional 30 messages.

How do I Delete my Account?

The short answer is no but you can become invisible which is as good as, the long explaination is below:

We occasionally get asked this currently users can't do this, but do remember the site is totally free and you will never be charged or even asked for payment details. There are two reasons you can't do this:

The first and foremost reason for this is it's highly complex, this site has many tables, many records in each table and a large number of relationships, removing a user totally and safely, i.e. ensuring it has no repercussions for continued users, is no easy task.
It's a lesser requested feature (typically we get about one request every 2 months). Given few users actually want to do this and the level of time needed to code it, it's not terribly high up in the priority list.

You can become invisible where other users, except those you message will not be able to see you, but if you really feel that you must be removed, send me an email containing your username, and some feedback about the site and I'll try to delete you manually (this can take a while, and I make no promises in times of heavy traffic when other requests will take precedence), if you provide feedback (even if it is negetitive) I'll try to priortise your request.

Please note if you have been classed as a spammer we will not delete your account until you successfully argue you where misclassed

What is Invisibility

In you settings page, accessible from your homepage, you can click a button called go invisible. When you click this the button will change to go invisible, this decision is reversible, however it has some implications while you are invisible mode.

Invisibility is pretty much as it sounds, you become invisible you don't show up on any searches so no one knows your there, you can still message people, however the people you message, and only the people you message will be able to see your profile.

This probably sounds pretty good but if you go invisible you won't receive any mail from new people whatsoever, so please thing carefully before clicking the button.

If you want to delete you account we don't actually offer this functionality at the minute.

I have been classed as Spammer and I'm not

This does sometimes happen, our spam filter is totally automated and the frequent cause is that the user has replied to spam messages if this has happened, don't panic email me, and I'll sort it out for you, please be aware, that reclassification is NOT an automated process and real spammer's will not get reclassified.
